About Rentaba
Credit where rent is due.
Rentaba is a rent-reporting service and FCRA data furnisher based in Philadelphia. We verify the rent people already pay and report it to the credit bureaus, so renters and students get the credit history homeowners get by default.
Why we exist.
Homeowners build credit with every mortgage payment, automatically. Renters pay the same bill every month and get nothing for it, and fewer than one in twenty ever have their rent reported.
We think the largest payment most people make should count. Rentaba exists to make it count, one verified payment at a time, for the people the credit system has been slowest to see: renters, students, and people who arrived here with no file at all.
Founder
Ali Alqhtani
Ali came to the U.S. as an international student with no credit file, paid for housing on time for years, and got no credit for any of it. He founded Rentaba in Philadelphia so students graduate with a credit history instead of starting from zero.

Verified, not assumed
Every payment we report is matched to a lease and to a bank account in the renter’s name. If we can’t verify it, we don’t report it.
On-time only
We report positive payments. A late or missed payment never reaches a bureau through us.
Consent first
Nothing is reported until a person has read our data-sharing agreement and said yes. They can withdraw at any time.
Plain language
If a sentence on this site would confuse a 19-year-old, we rewrite it. The same goes for our policies.
