Temple Ethics Bowl Club is Temple University’s competitive undergraduate ethics debate team. We prepare and present arguments on real-world ethical issues using cases from the Association for Practical and Professional Ethics (APPE), then compete against other colleges in regional and national Ethics Bowl tournaments across the U.S. Members gain experience in critical thinking, clear communication, and collaborative argumentation while exploring complex moral questions. We meet every Thursday at 5:15 PM on the 7th floor of Mazur Hall in the Philosophy Lounge. Each week’s case/topic is sent out via GroupMe in advance so members can prepare. Membership is open to Temple undergraduates who are not in an accelerated degree program; due to competition rules, we limit active team membership to 10 students. There are no membership dues. Our faculty advisor is Professor Paul Crowe (Philosophy), and we are affiliated with the APPE Ethics Bowl network through John Garcia (jgarcia@harpercollege.edu). We welcome thoughtful, curious students from any major.
