Rentaba for employers

Your benefits are built for owners. Most of your employees under 35 rent.

A 401(k) match, an HSA, home-buying assistance: all of it assumes a credit history and a mortgage somewhere down the line. Your renters pay the biggest bill of their lives every month and get nothing for it. Rentaba changes that, at no cost to you.

The problem

The employees your benefits miss are the ones under the most pressure.

Financial stress follows people to work, and the employees feeling the most of it are often the youngest, the newest, and the ones renting. They’re not short on discipline; they pay rent on time every month. They’re short on a credit history that reflects it. Rent reporting fixes exactly that, with a bill they already pay.

Individual results vary.

Why you

Renters don’t find this on their own. They find it when someone they trust tells them.

A 26-year-old with a lease has never been told rent can count. Their bank doesn’t say it. Their landlord doesn’t say it. A benefits page from their employer does, and it arrives with the one thing a financial product can’t buy: your credibility. That’s the whole reason this works as a benefit and not as an ad.

It reaches the people other benefits miss

Renters, early-career hires, and employees arriving from other countries with no file at all.

It moves them toward the mortgage

Since July 2025, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac accept a credit score that counts rent when it’s reported.

It’s the easiest benefit you’ll ever launch

A link. A partner rate. Nothing for your team to run.

What we ask of you.

A point of contact. A place to share your company link: a benefits page, an onboarding email, a Slack post. That’s the list.

What we never ask for.

No employee data, before or after. No payroll or HRIS integration. No budget line. No support traffic to your team. What comes back to you is program activity, nothing more.

The flow

Five steps. One call to start.

  1. 1

    Intro call

30 minutes, we size the partner rate to your headcount.

  2. 2

    Partner terms

One page, accepted by email. Nothing to negotiate, nothing for procurement.

  3. 3

    Your link

We create a company link that applies your partner rate automatically.

  4. 4

    You share it

Benefits page, onboarding, an all-hands slide. We supply the copy.

  5. 5

    Employees enroll

In about two minutes, with their own consent, and the rent they already pay starts counting.

After step 4, there is nothing for your team to do.

The benefit

The same Rentaba, at your rate.

Rent reported monthly

On-time rent reported to the major credit bureaus in the Metro 2 format. Late payments never are.

Up to 24 months of past rent

Retro Boost reports the rent they’ve already paid on their current lease.

No landlord sign-up

We confirm the lease once. After that, their bank does the verifying, read-only through Plaid.

Your partner rate

Set with you based on headcount, applied automatically through your company link.

Compliance

Built to the standards your counsel will ask about.

FCRA furnisher standards

Rentaba furnishes rent data under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, in the Metro 2 format, with documented verification, dispute and consent-withdrawal procedures.

Employee consent

Employees enroll themselves, read and accept a data-sharing agreement, and can withdraw at any time. Nothing is reported for anyone who hasn’t opted in.

Security

Identity and bank verification through Plaid, read-only. Rentaba runs on SOC 2 Type II–audited infrastructure. Data encrypted in transit and at rest.

Questions benefits teams ask.

What does this cost the company?

Nothing. Employees pay for their own plan at your partner rate. No budget line, no invoice, no procurement.

Do we need to integrate anything?

No. A company link is all it takes. No payroll or HRIS integration, no single sign-on, no data exchange in either direction.

What do we see once it’s running?

A partner dashboard for tracking the program, which we set up with you around the metrics you care about. You never see anyone’s payments, bank, lease or credit information.

Is this a loan or a credit product?

No. Rentaba isn’t a loan, a credit card or a credit-repair service. It reports the rent your employees already pay to the credit bureaus as on-time payment history. No new debt, no credit check.

What if an employee misses a rent payment?

We report on-time payments only. A late or missed payment is never reported to the bureaus.

Which credit bureaus do you report to?

Rentaba furnishes rental data to Experian RentBureau and is an approved TransUnion data furnisher; TransUnion reporting begins once onboarding is complete. (Last updated: October 2026)

How long does it take to launch?

A 30-minute call, a one-page partner terms sheet accepted by email, and your company link is ready. From there it launches the day you share the link; we supply the copy for your benefits page or onboarding email.

The biggest bill your employees pay should count for something. Make it count.
