Is Cash App available in Europe

No, Cash App is not available in Europe. It currently works only in the United States and the United Kingdom. People living in other European countries cannot create a Cash App account or send and receive money through it.

Details and Explanation

Cash App is a mobile payment service owned by Block, Inc. To use it, your account must be verified with your country of residence, phone number, and sometimes a bank card issued in that country. Its system is designed to follow national financial regulations, which are very different in each country. For that reason, Cash App has expanded slowly and only operates in two countries for now.

  • United States: Residents can send, receive, and withdraw money in U.S. dollars. It links to U.S. bank accounts or debit cards and can also connect to an optional Cash Card (a Visa debit card issued by Cash App).
  • United Kingdom: UK residents can use Cash App in British pounds. However, they can only exchange money with other UK users, not with U.S. users. The two systems are separate, and cross-border transfers between the US and UK are not supported.

If you try to download or open Cash App from another European country (for example, Germany, France, Spain, Italy, or Poland), you’ll likely see one of these messages: “Cash App is not available in your region” or “App not supported in your country.” This isn’t a technical issue—Cash App’s network is restricted by location. Even using a VPN or a foreign SIM card will not solve it, because your bank information, identity verification, and local regulations still need to match one of the supported countries.

If You Already Meet All Requirements

That means you are physically in the U.S. or the U.K., you have a local phone number, a bank account or debit card issued in that country, and valid ID. In this case, you can easily use Cash App:

  • Download Cash App from the official Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
  • Register with your local phone number or email address.
  • Link your debit card or bank account from the same country.
  • Verify your identity if prompted—usually with legal name, date of birth, and postal address.

Once set up, you can send or request money instantly between local users. Just remember that international transfers are not possible yet, even if both parties use Cash App in different supported countries.

For anyone living or studying elsewhere in Europe, consider alternatives such as Revolut, Wise, PayPal, or N26—these work across many European nations and allow euro and pound balances. Cash App may expand in the future, but for now, it remains limited to the U.S. and U.K.
